My Thoughts On New Orleans Religions

I wanted my last blog post to be just a short summary of what I have learned in this semester's New Orleans Religions Class.

Jackson Square

During the past three months, I have never beheld more diversity or more religious experiences than ever before in my entire life as a Catholic from Sulphur, Louisiana. There is something to be said about a class that teaches you how to be comfortable attending a service that is completely foreign to you and leaving with a new perspective each time. With each religious visit, I felt more accepting of the different beliefs and customs of the various communities residing in New Orleans and knew that such acceptance can only improve my relationships with others. Although I must admit I dreaded having to wake up so early on a Sunday morning for each field trip, I always came away from it feeling a sense of self-accomplishment because I knew I had just enriched my understanding of the city I love even more. In conclusion, I would like to thank Dr. Wessinger for showing us the good side of the city wish everyone the best of luck on their Wiki reports.
