Plain Du Nord

Okay. basically this is a giant Haitian Voodoo tradition. It's called Plain Du Nord and is sort of a pilgrimage that Haitian Voodoo Practitioners take to the capital of the municipality, Plain Du Nord. Practitioners engage in various Voodoo rituals including animal sacrifice and prayer in mud pools so the Loa will improve their living situations (give them more success, money, power, etc.). Anyway, here is a video which shows pretty well all aspects of the festival and some of the rituals that Practitioners engage in (including prayer in mud pools, possessions, etc). Plain Du Nord festival takes place around July. Enjoy!
