The Fairview Baptist church in New Orleans helped revive
brass bands in new Orleans. Danny created the Fairview Baptist Church Marching
band in 1970. It was for the youth in the city. The band grew in popularity and
began to have many gigs. Eventually the musicians union claimed he was
exploiting the children and he had to stop. But many of the children went on to
create their own brass bands.
