Today at Voodoo Authenticawe were told a little bit about each Voodoo spirit. The one I found interesting is La Sirene. She is married to Agwe. She is seen as the mother of the seas. She is seen as a beautiful siren or mermaid. She is charming but also fierce and powerful. She loves gold and jewels. Her colors are baby blue and white, her symbols are starfish and sea shells.  The offerings people give to her include white rum, champagne, wine, fruits, and desserts(there are other offerings as well) In Haiti there are folklores of her taking people down to be her servants and them gain mystical knowledge. There are different stories about how one becomes her servant.  Rituals are performed by the sea and a raft of offerings is sent out.For more information please see  http://lasireneblog.blogspot.com/.
